Friendship Bridge: Dignity Health 2016 Grantee

Delivering the first mobile health clinic to Chimaltenango, Guatemala

Friendship Bridge used their Dignity Health grant to expand their Salud para la Vida program to clients in their Chimaltenango branch in Guatemala through their local partner, Maya Health Alliance. Services included the creation of the first mobile health clinic in August, 2016. Already close to 600 patients have been served. Through this service they were able touncover eleven cases of abnormal pap results, including two cases of cervical cancer. These patients have begun treatment and/or are being referred for further surgeries. For many clients, this was the first time they have ever participated in preventative health service.

Friendship Bridge facilitators have been provided with information banners to display during trust Bank meetings, highlighting the health services available, and answering questions about the program.
