Dignity Health Partners with MedShare to Collect and Redistribute Medical Supplies

Fourteen Dignity Health hospitals in Northern and Central California participate in MedShare’s barrel collection program, collecting medical supplies and equipment and redistributing them to underserved communities here in the US and abroad, contributing to an equivalent of $50,000 annually since 2011. Donations of excess medical supplies and slightly used medical equipment find their way to many health clinics in the Bay Area, Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys, as well as to countries in need.

2014’s devastating earthquake in Nepal, with the help of $44,000 donated by Dignity Health employees and the Dignity Health Foundation, MedShare shipped 600 boxes of vital supplies to the Dhulikhel Hospital in Kathmandu.
